We had this crazy idea that quickly became a core mission for us: that everyone should be able to own a tennis ball launcher. We loved the concept of a tennis ball launcher, and always used them when we were at the clubs when they were available. Warming up before a game, both mentally and physically, always has us at the top of our game. Problem is, they weren’t always available. Or easy to use. Or even good for that matter. We knew that to make a tennis ball launcher for everyone, besides being simple and awesome, it would have to be both portable and affordable. So we got to work. And we couldn’t be prouder of the end product.

Since our last update we have been inundated with emails, comments, messages, etc… We have done our best to respond to each of you individually, if we have not yet gotten back to you, please be patient, we will.
Many of you asked about an update regarding our stage, process and next steps. In this update we will explain the current status of Slinger. We are also creating a clear timeline detailing what our next steps are (from today until shipping), which we will be sharing with you shortly.
Ok, let’s talk Slinger.
This update will be broken up into three parts: (1) Launcher, (2) Electronics / Programming, and (3) Bag (Fabrics and Hardware).
(1) Launcher: The launcher itself is currently undergoing final prototyping, tuning and testing, as part of the pre-manufacturing validation.
(2) Electronics, Battery and Programming: The 1st version of the circuit board is undergoing testing with the electro-mechanical components of Slinger. The board itself is subject to a couple more iterations before it is finalized, but the programming has been tested and functions properly.
In parallel we are working with a Compliance Standards Consultant to ensure that the QA / QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) process goes as quickly and smoothly as possible.
(3) Bag (Fabrics and Hardware): We are currently undergoing pre-production sampling, in order to validate the overall look and feel of Slinger, as well as functionality, durability and compatibility with the internal parts (launcher, battery, etc…). Once completed we are going to test the full device and go straight to batch manufacturing.
We are also full steam ahead with all of our add-ons and will share more about that in the next update.
As you can see, we have a lot on our hands but we are progressing nicely. All of you have a big part in making Slinger possible and we are grateful for each and every one of you. You will love your Slinger once you receive it, we are sure of that!

Many of you have been reaching out about the Remote and Platform. We are happy to announce that you will each be receiving an email from BackerKit in the coming week where both of these items will be available.

As with the remote and platform, we heard two more of your concerns which we wanted to address. One was picking the balls up after you hit them and the second was wanting more than 72 balls in Slinger. We are proud to introduce you to the Slinger Telescopic Tube and the Slinger Ball Hopper which will solve these concerns!

After using Slinger to hit balls all over the court, the last thing you want to do is bend down and pick them up... Slinger’s Telescopic Tube makes that a whole lot easier!
Slinger Ball Hopper
The Ball Hopper will provide storage space for balls and additional game time when attached to Slinger! The Hopper can add 40 balls to your Slinger capacity and attaches to the bag in a single point- the carry handle, which needs to be fully raised. The Hopper also folds flat, making it super easy to transport!
